History

In 1996 at a small, secluded student retreat in West Alabama, God birthed a great vision. The speaker at this event was approached by a young girl who told of how she had just asked Jesus into her heart and that she was excited about reentering a very unstable home-life with this Good News. Upon leaving, the Holy Spirit spoke this simple message into the heart of the speaker: “I want to do this again, but bigger.” En Fuego was born. This young man immediately contacted one of his closest ministry friends and the same vision was ignited in him. Soon, a team of ministers and lay-people had assembled to make this dream happen. In the fall of 1997, En Fuego was realized.

Meaning “On Fire” in Spanish, En Fuego is a one-day festival where students from every denomination and background come together for the purpose of worship and seeing Jesus Christ change lives. Each consecutive year the praise and worship has been spectacular and a clear Gospel message has been presented. An outdoor event, the festival has a very intense, yet intimate, camp-like feel and some have referred to it as, “The Christian Woodstock of Your Generation.”Located in central Alabama, En Fuego began with a group of some 300 students the first year. The Lord has grown this festival in ministry, excellence and numbers. En Fuego has become a regional event that touches youth from around the Southeast. This event brings some of the hottest bands in Christian music for worship and offers messages from the best student communicators in the country. This event has seen hundreds of students come to know Christ, make commitments of renewal and be called into full-time ministry. Now, more than 20,000 people cover the open hillside each year to exalt the name of Jesus Christ!

With committed team members praying diligently, this next event promises to be incredible. We are anxious to see God move as only He can! You don’t want to miss it!
